Welcome to The Learning Academy where we are committed to students. Here we provide an opportunity for students to gain the academic skills necessary to meet the expectations of the regular classroom. Counseling and parental involvement will be available in helping the student become successful in the transition back to the home campus where self-control is expected.
NFISD has several levels of disciplinary alternatives. Students may be removed from regular classes to a disciplinary alternative learning area on school grounds, which is commonly referred to as in-school suspension (OCI). On more serious (level one) offenses, a student may be removed and placed here in The Learning Academy.
Through a system of intervention and strategies, opportunities will be provided to enable the student to increase self-esteem, self-control, develop a positive attitude, and make necessary behavioral adjustments required for the return to the home campus.
